do you have to declare bucket seats as a modification on insurance? im not sure if its only external mods?

Read the wording of your own insurance to be sure, but usually it will state something like "Any modification that differs from the manufacturer's standard model" or some other legal jibberish. Basically if it was an option or you've stuck it on afterwards, then tell them. The worst they can do is charge you extra for it, at best they'll just say they don't care at all.
