Hi folks,

I've got a CEL light can someone confirm the procedure for reading the codes?

Am I right in thinking this is it:

Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released,

turn ignition switch “ONâ€

wait 3 seconds.

Repeat the following two procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds:

Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD).

Fully release the accelerator pedal.

Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 10 seconds until the CEL starts blinking.

Then it's a matter of counting the flashes and getting the code?

I've searched everywhere but struggling to find the right procedure. Mind you I'm only on the phone using tapa talk and google.

Thank you

Steve

The link Stew put up is a Sticky, but I don't think it has the actual code reading bit in it.

I'll see if I can find the code reading link on this forum and ensure its stickied. In the mean time that my350z shoudl help.

My Bad.....Stews link does indeed include the code bit (been years since I have had to do it).

When you are doing the reset procedure and the CEL flashes, it will flash in a sequence spelling out the code

Please can someone sticky this or The original topic with Stu's link?

Will make finding the CEL procedure much easier and hopefully avoid this question being asked again. I'm sure it will come up.

Thanks

Lexx and Stew thank you

I pulled the code this morning:

147 -O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 3)

As such I have reset the code and will see if it comes back.

I'm just hoping it was a temporary problem to do with the cold.

Thanks again,

Have you got an aftermarket exhaust or HFC's?

Yes I Have an aftermarket exhaust but it's been on for about 2 years with no issues.

It's also been UpReved at RS tuning.

Since resetting the fault it hasn't yet come back and I did quite a few miles yesterday.
