Blackcode Re-mapping

Hey guys,

 

I don't know if anyone has heard of or had any experience with Blackcode before, but I'm a little confused. After e-mailing them enquiring about a re-map for the zed I've had three replies, one stating that no they cannot do anything for my car, the second saying that yes they can and I'd be looking at a 10bhp and 10 NM gain, and a third saying that the zed requires specialist kit, so I'd have to take the car to Durham but I could expect a 40bhp and 40 NM gain!?

 

Does anyone know anything about this company, and if so which estimation is accurate?

 

Failing that I am interested in a re-map, so if you've had one done I'd love to know prices, performance gains and your opinion on the benefits on a re-map.

None except the first unless they have uprev licensing and it's expensive and you'll be lucky to see 10-15hp gain

 

Take it to abbey, rs motorsport in Leeds or horsham

Only three companies I know of who can do it, Abbey, RS Tuning and Horsham who can do the 350z

Ok brilliant thanks guys, so if the power gains are relatively small what are the other benefits of a re-map/Uprev? I've heard you get a lot more torque low down, anyone have any first hand experience of the differences?

In summary uprev on its own wont really do much apart from improve the drivability

 

Most people who modify with performance exhausts, HFCs, plenum spacers and the like have an uprev to remap the car to work optimally with the mods which release a lot more bhp/nm.

I disagree, a remap on a stock car will give bhp/torque gain through out the rev range as well as improved throttle response.
