Since I reflushed my engine coolant I didn't have enough to fill the reservoir up so I topped up with some orange halfords coolant after using Nissan coolant is this okay??

Can I carry on topping up with halfords coolant???

please go out and flush your coolant out and refill from fresh.

if its the orange one i think it is, its a corrosive coolant made for certain cars, my jag uses it, and it will eat through your coolant system if left in for too long. the blue stuff is a different type.

you should use the coolant recommended for your car.

check to see if the orange stuff you used is organic acid technology (OAT) its a long life coolant and only suitable for cars that are designed to run on it. and i don't think the nissan is.

What coolant should I be looking at using?

i don't own one any more so i can;t look in the manual, but it should state in the manual what you need.

when i did my coolant change i just ordered the right stuff from opie, i believe it was nissans own coolant,

i'll go check

alright you might be ok, the 2 reccomended ones seem to be OAT based,

but i still wouldn't mix coolants of different colours. especially if the other stuff isn't OAT tech

in the nxt month or so, i'd drain and re fill

to be honest halfords or euro parts stuff will be fine, just keep it all the same, any left over can be kept in the garage for top ups then, and you'll need 9 litres ;)

Nissan stuff is very reasonable and comes in a concentrated form. I wouldn't worry about the hassle of putting anything else in when the proper stuff is so easily available. :)

My bro once used Halfords coolant which was allegedly the same spec as the ForLife coolant from Toyota.

Halfords stuff boiled earlier by a long way, my bro has been using Toyota ForLife ever since.

So it's prolly best to stick with Nissan OEM coolant like Ekona suggested.
