larsdowg Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Afternoon everyone, just booking a P3 service with Nissan for my 2004 350Z thats done 22,000 miles. Price is £315 which I didnt think was bad, however they have suggested £220 to have my spark plugs changed........... I think 22,000 is too low mileage to change the plugs? Anyways that aside I am fairly handy with the spanners, is it something I can do myself and if so does anyone have a workshop manual and can tell me what plugs to buy? Any help appreciated Cheers Lars Quote
EH 370z Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I am fairly confident the the plugs dont get done until about 70K! Quote
MITZ@CougarStore Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 We’ve always suggested 5 years or 45,000 miles, which ever comes first is a rule followed by most… Quote
rabbitstew Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I looked into this the other week as my zed was due a service. The DE engine is recommended to change them at 36k. The HR engine (which mine is) says 54k. Out of interest the plugs for the HR engine cost twice as much as those for the DE engine! Quote
mike89 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 How hard a job is it to change the spark plugs on a Zed? Ive done the last two cars ive had on my own as its been really easy. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 5 years or 54,000 is what I recommend for the DE:thumbs: The platinum or iridium plugs are good for the above. You will find them in my 7 Page sub forum viewforum.php?f=157 Quick links to plugs below. viewtopic.php?f=157&t=44399 viewtopic.php?f=157&t=44400 viewtopic.php?f=157&t=44401 All in stock and good to go same/next day Alex Quote

I'm just having a chat with a local garage who has been highly recommended by a lot of people at work. I will get a quote for service and plug fitting (and drop you a PM re buying Iridium plugs) depending on what they come back with...... Otherwise might wait until it a bit better weather and do them myself next year thanks Lars Quote
