Clicking when clutch is pressed....

Hi everyone

Got a slightly strange problem.

Every now and then when changing gear, in any gear, at any speed my clutch is clicking when compressed / released. I can feel the click in my foot coming off of the pedal but the sound seems to be coming from higher up than the pedal?

Has anyone had this before? It stops after a few minutes, but happens semi-regularly now...

Thanks

Ryan

Ryan.

Lubricate the clutch pedal fulrum area with an aerosol of WD 40 or similar and remember and wipe excess fluid from the pedal.

I have this and it drives me insane. Where exactly should the WD40 be sprayed? I've already given most of what I can see a spray with white silicone grease and it's still clicking.

Thanks Alex will do, but like Chris said, where exactly is the "Fulcrum" area? Unfortunately I'm not a 350z expert like yourself ;)

Thanks!

At the top of the pedal mate

If you get your head under the dash you will soon see where the pedal pivots up in the pedal box area.

You will also see a pedal return spring, give this a soak as well while working the pedal by hand.

This is not guaranteed to fix your issue but well worth a try as it only takes a minute.

i had this problem too, but managed to vanish by itself, but since reading this ive sprayed duck oil on it, as WD40 is only water dispersal...hence the WD part of the name! i havent had the problem again since

+1 WD40 is rubbish for lubricating things. Ferrosol is where its at. A proper penatration fluid.

I had the exact same thing, in fact it became a squeak. If you get you head in the footwell with a light you will see the clutch pedal mechanism with a spring. I tried WD40 it helped but didnt last. Best thing I have found is white silicon grease, now my clutch is smooth as silk, i give all the pedals a quick spray about once a month
