Roadster Roof

Fodder

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have used the search function but I can't find a thread which matches...

It seems I have a very small tear in the roof apporximately 1" long, I'm looking for recommendations to have this repaired so if anyone has any recomended companies hopefully lcoal to Chester and the surrounding area please let me know.

I think it may have been caused when one of the hydrolic pistons popped off late last year due to a loose nut which i ended up just reattching and tightening up... I wish i had noticed this back then as the car was still under warranty at the time :headhurt:

Google just throws guides at me and if I were to attempt this repair myself I'd end up bonding with the car a little more than I'd want :p

Cheers

Andy

As you say, I can't recall an answer for your query, although the question has been asked before.

I can only suggest you contact one of the specialist companies - just picked these two at random as examples.

Hopefully a member will be along soon who can positively recommend a good repairer

It may be worth you trying Midlandmars, they seem to offer a wide range of services and offer member discounts. There work looks very impressive and they will be at least able to give you some guidance.

Search midlandmars on here and with google. :)

Id be interested to see how you get on withthis one too! I have about the same size tare but it is where the mechanism has worn through at the pivot point at the bottom of the B pillar region on the drivers door!

Hope it wont be expensive for you!! :)

Thanks for the information so far.... The people martin suggested look good but I was hoping I'd find someone more local to me. If i can't find anywhere (with good feedback) local I may have to have a day trip to Walsall but as with all things my spare time is so little these days.

I'll do some research and contact a bodyshop i've used in the past to see if they know anyone locally with a good reputation but keep the suggestions coming folks it's very much appreciated.

I think it will be easily repairable and to be honest I'm not too bothered with regards to cost (within reason) I just want it done properly.

It's very difficult to see and I only noticed when i was putting the roof up while chatting to my passenger and happened to notice a small slither of daylight where there shouldnt be any.

And I will provide feedback.

Cheers

Andy
