So if *ahem* theoretically, my car went 120mph, then its not limited ? Would still like to know where the box of tricks is.

mine did go to 120mph then cut out , but you'll find with speedo error thats 112mph in real terms. try 125 mph  . box of tricks lives next to ECU in passenger footwell on L/H side

Hmmm, guess I need to head off to the airstrip again ;)

So the ECU is under the carpet I guess?

get your head in the footwell and look up to L/H side you should see ECU..if it has the HKS box you will defo see it

The price quoted by TDI seems a bit steep. I thought that this installation was something that most of us could manage ourselves, and I remember seeing the unit being sold on eBay for around £150 recently.

I think £185 is RRP for the unit, :)

Waiting for mine from Vesitas, will get my local mate whos got an auto electrician/alarm garage. Hopefully should only charge me about £20 or so if that to do it properly. I would fry the ECU with my soldering kit!! :teeth:

Sorry, I meant as in; its the Type-2 that I need for this car?

if it's a manual yes, if it's a tiptronic, you need a Type III I believe

Funkystyling tell me that its the Type 3-N3 for manual, I guess Type 2 for tiptronic :(

Sorry about that, I was going on what martin (350znismo) had done to his (see the link above) - we do need a definitive statement which can be posted in FAQs, could you ask Chris (Funky) to nail that for us once and for all :)
