Ipod connector

Hi,

I purchased an ipod connector from xcarlink recently (http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?p ... =10&page=1).

However, when i came to install the connector on the back of the CD changed did not fit. Does anyone know of an adapter that is available or is there a better way to connect my ipod (as this way also includes attaching of wires to battery/ignition)?

Many Thanks

Stew

changed the head unit in mine for a JVC item. Cool as, much better sound. BUT lost the voice of my sat nav :-(

I strongly recomend using one of the affiliated dealers to buy your gear as you will need adapters etc to make it all fit - steering wheel controls and loom interfaces if keeping the bose amp unit.

I spent £80 + on looms interfaces and surrounds etc to plug it all in.

Do a search for fitting to see whats involved before you buy. You have to take the centre part of the dash out to do this.

Only works in US cars, UK & Jap cars don't have the spare connector. You either need to do the tape hack or replace the head unit, I strongly suggest the latter. :)

I was going to do the headunit swap but the tape hack is so good i dont think i will now :) its much better quality than the CD player itself and gives more volume if you so desire.

Thanks for the info. Any tips as to where I can get a new head unit?

If you don't know too much then work out how much you want to spend and go to an I.C.E. specialist and get them to price it up.

Main things to ask yourself -

Single or Double Din

CD or DVD

USB & iPod (no brainer seeing post title)

SatNav

Retaining Steering Controls

Basically comes down to how much you wanna spend and what you want it to do
