Hi Bud

I have just repaired a nice Le Mans Blue 370z.I purchased it for £7750 plus £250 delivery. It is now fully repaired and without my labour costs stands me at just under £13000 not bad for a 2009 370z with 11000 miles on the clock.I purchased most of my parts from Courtesy Nissan in theUSA.They have a superb website with main dealer diagrams to order from and even with import duty and delivery they come out miles cheaper.Parts that are specific to RHD vehicles I purchased from Middlehurst Nissan were I negotiated a good discount. :yahoo:

I was lucky to buy some parts,Airbags radiator etc from the racing side of 370s as they dont use them in their cars. There are not that many secound hand parts around but if you keep an eye on Ebay they pop up now and again.

P.S if you Google Import duty calculator and put in e.g body parts, postage and price it will calculate the cost for you.

Youve done well doing it for that price  How many hours did you put in on it?

Thanks guys, when I bought the 370 I wanted one and to be honest this was the only way I could afford one without having to get finance.I suppose it was a labour of love  I used to have a 57 plate 350 and when I sold it I missed it bad so when this 370 came up after a bit of negotiation I bought it.On the hours side of things its hard to put a time to it as it was mostly evenings and weekends, luckily I have a good friend with a body shop who did all the paint work.A lot of time was spent actually sourcing parts as with 370s being so new theres not a lot of them being broken. With it being my car and not just a car to make money off I replaced everything even things that were not noticeably damaged such as wheel hub, which took a big hit, best to be safe than sorry. All I can add is when your buying parts from a main dealer explain your in an owners club and say another dealer who is further away has offered you a discount and ask them if they can match it,explain you would rather buy from them as there closer :yahoo: I will try and take some pictures this weekend and post them asap.If anyone is considering repairing any car make sure you know as humanly possible exactly what needs replacing and the cost of the parts.A lot of salvage dealers will sell damaged cars at stupid money telling people its an easy fix blah blah,if its that easy they would repair the car themselves and make more money.Be careful if buying a damaged car and if your not clued up take someone who is with you when looking there are bargains out there you just have to find them.I have been using the car now since the beginning of January and it drives like a dream and knowing it hasn,t cost me an arm and a leg makes it feel even better :yahoo:

  • 1 year later...

One year had already passed and I do apologize for reviving this thread. The topic here caught my attention. Dustcap was fortunate enough because the repair was made at discountable price. I'm looking for body parts for nissan and a mechanic who can help me with that. I hope you guys can help me. By the way, good job dustcap! :)

If your after front and rear bumper I'm guessing you got 125 Black Edition ?

Are you wanting to go standard or aftermarket in style ? Drop me a PM with what you want im sure I can help with some parts and a few other traders on here can too
