ir_fuel Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Just ordered a Nismo exhaust cat-back system, 1539€ fitted Didnt really plan on ordering it now, but since i know the car will be gone in about 4 years, the earlier i have it the longer i can enjoy it Will have it in 3 weeks Quote
lomoto Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 make sure you get it fitted correctly , I have seen a couple of these Nismo systems fitted with one outlet higher than another Quote
Baptist Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 have your ordered some ear plugs too It aint that loud! Nice one, you'll love the sound. Quote
ir_fuel Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 It wont be that loud, its a European version or sth (apparently there are 3 versions, of which the Japanse one is the loudest, the US one doesnt fit coz it doesnt leave space for the cooling fins of the rear diff which isnt on the US models, and the EU one). Its only a few db louder than stock, but deeper. As he said, if i wanted one which makes lots of noise, i should get a HKS or APEXI I think it will be fitted correctly, as the guy is the only one in Belgium doing Nismo stuff and regulary does engine tuning and thinks like that, so i guess he can mount an exhaust straight Quote
ir_fuel Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 What happened to the Fujitsubo exhaust? See topic in "spotted on ebay" Quote
Baptist Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Any of the Nismo exhausts fit, if indeed there really are different versions. Quote
Sarnie Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 the US one doesnt fit coz it doesnt leave space for the cooling fins of the rear diff which isnt on the US models Incorrect. Blacky recently ran a group buy for Nismo zorsts from the US and no one reported problems with fitment. Quote
Baptist Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 The mid pipe doesnt go that close to the diff, if i remember correctly. Never heard of a Nismo that doesnt fit. Quote
lomoto Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 The mid pipe doesnt go that close to the diff, if i remember correctly. Never heard of a Nismo that doesnt fit. Nah no clearance problems with the diff Quote
ir_fuel Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 I ll ask the guy for the part numbers when i see him, just to check his story Quote
Guest prescience Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Imported mine from the US - perfect fit; There is a bit of adjustment sometimes to get the back pipes level, but its straightforward Quote
ir_fuel Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 ... and now fitted Never noticed on pics, but dont the exhaust pipes themself stick a bit further out compared to the original ones? Sound is not bad. You cant hear the difference when riding at constant speed (highway) which is nice (no extra cabin noise for long trips), but you really hear it when flooring the thing. Especially around 3000-4500rpm it sounds lower and heavier. From inside the car i dont notice that much of a difference when revving to the limiter dough, once past 4500 rpm. There is one but it isnt as big as the sound it makes around 3000rpm, compared to stock. Quote
sl114 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Excellent mate, where did you order it from? Me want one Quote

ir_fuel Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 Easy, do it next year in spring, just plan a trip to the nurburgring. The dealer is located near the german border 5km from the highway you need to go to the ring. Get it installed in the morning and enjoy it the rest of the day Quote
