chippy Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Does anyone know how to remove the AT selector shift knob? I fancy one of those RSW carbon covers for the bottom panel but would imagine that the knob needs removing to fit it. I downloaded a PDF workshop manual for the 370z last night but can't seem to find it anywhere. Also, a question that's had me wondering for quite sometime - why is there a red marker on the speedo at 30mph? Quote
Chris`I Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Got any pics? AFAIK the unit is one whole thing as far as Nissan is concerned. If RSW are making them though, they must know how to remove them! I see you've ask on the US forums, if anyone knows it will be them Quote
chippy Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Yep it's one of these, so must be do-able. Left a message on the370z forum too,, but no luck so far. http://www.rsw.ne.jp/z34-at-shift-gate-t.jpg Quote
Ebized Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Have you seen this guide - it is a manual, but..... ? http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-do-y ... -370z.html Quote
Chris`I Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I've had the finisher off on mine, but the unit looked to be one piece, well not one piece, but no obvious way to take it apart. You may find you have to remove the whole unit and remove the "stick" from below. Or maybe the gap in the gate (where you shift from full auto to manual) is just big enough to get over the gear knob? chippy Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 Or maybe the gap in the gate (where you shift from full auto to manual) is just big enough to get over the gear knob? I thought that, but the I think the knob looks a bit to fat. I'll have a crack at making a cardboard template of the gate tomorrow and see if it works. Failing that I might try emailing RSW and see how it's done. Quote
Chris`I Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 I guess if you can get a reply from RSW that would be the easiest way Quote
chippy Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 Got a reply on the370z.com. Actually seems pretty simple! The metallic section at the bottom slides down and a clip is removed and off it pops! Quote
Chris`I Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Remember to do a "How To" when you do it Quote
