triksterb Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Hi Guys  New to the forum so Hi to y'all who love a bit of meat under your feet...loving the V6.  My piece is running at about 26k and has been into the dealer for the usual problems I've seen noted - rear axles, CD skipping, Amp failing during hard accelerating / braking, driverside window staying down etc etc..  Dealer has also mentioned that the clutch is getting worn - what milage are the clutches going on average for these machines?  Finally - can anyone recommend any specialists ( non-dealer) either in Berkshire or Bham that can do both tuning and replacing parts like clutch for less than 70 p/h..?  Comments most seriously welcome..! monkfish Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Mate!! Â Don't know how long the clutch is supposed to last as I've not had my zed for long, but I hope it lasts longer than 26K miles!!!!! Quote
AndyC Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 mate, mines got bout 25k on now and no noticeable feel/smell of the clutching starting to go. I have heard stories of some lasting well less than 30k or even 20k, by all accounts the clutch isn't the toughest part of our cars I'm afraid. Â Sorry can't help on the specialists in your area, no doubt someone local will be along shortly Quote
Removed Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I have 31k but no issues with the clutch and it's been driven "properly" too. Â But yeah some clutches have failed not due to abuse at only a few thousands miles Quote
triksterb Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Cheers boys - I think it's got some life in it yet - but I was keen to get some feedback from anyone who has had it replaced - including the kind of pain we're going to feel in our wallet - assuming it's going to be quite a big job at least..... Â Still tryin' to get details of any specialists out there who would know what they're doing with a Z - so tuning the engine and replacing all consumables too - I'll be b*gered if I'm paying Dealer prices for that stuff..!!
