"Consult" hardware and software, anyone got it?

After servicing my car to day, the damn Engine light has come on...

 

Anyone bought a "Consult" setup?

 

Seen some on eBay for like 40 quid, thought they might be worth a punt. Rather than paying Nissan a load of cash.

I managed the pedal dace... worked... but the light came back on again

Take it back to Nissan and tell them to pull the code.

I presumed Nissan would r4p3 me for just looking at the car.

Probably charge me an hours labor just to give me the code.

I found out about the "dance" yesterday. But I didn't know the flashing give you the code!

I will do it again this morning and work out what the code is.

How do I work out from that what the error code is?

OK so... I get

 

10 slow, 1 Fast, 10 Fast, 2 Fast, 10 slow, 3 Fast, 10 fast, 10 fast....

 

Have I read it wrong? Or does it look right..

 

And how do I work out the code?

have you started the car with the MAF disconnected this will cause both those CEL,s , disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes this should cure this problem ( make usre you do reconnect the MAF 1st thou)

Nope... car wasn't started without the MAF connected.

 

But it WAS started (a few times) only firing on 4 cylinders.

 

When we put the coils back onto the sparks, two of them were not sitting right... so it mis-fired.

 

We whipped the coils off again, re-seated them, and she now runs fine. Taken her out and she actually feels like she pulls BETTER now.

Presume that is down to the new sparkies Alex sorted for me....

 

So how do I reset the error codes?

Shouldn't the "dance" do that?

 

(Lesson one, never put EVERYTHING back on... cover, strut brace etc BEFORE checking it fires up fine!)

BLOODY USELESS!!!!

 

I managed to get the Engine light to flash... but DIDN'T read the extra "Hold Gas for 10 to reset" line...

 

Light reset... all looking good!
