Just a quicky about cleaning the throttle body.

Can this be done with the engine running with some carb cleaner?

 

Going to do an extensive service tomorrow and thought id do that too.

I've done it that way in the past with previous cars ...

 

But I cleaned my throttle body on the Zed with the Engine off ...

 

BTW: Remember to not force the butterfly valve too much when opening it ...

I dont think, in fact I would be pretty confident that you cannot do this with the engine running--That is if it will run--The Z airflow meter is after the airbox and to get at the throttle body you need to disconnect the air pipe after the meter.

 

The engine may run but you will definately throw a cel

 

As said above just be careful moving the butterfly when you are cleaning

Be very careful with doing this and deffo not with the engine running!!!

 

There are loads of reports about people fooking them up when cleaning... Do a search on the Zed forums and also do a search on youtube, there is a good video...
