JimmyJam75
Yup - 2 or 3 nights in Paris. Eurostar from waterloo.. (get 1st class for you use the VIP lounge and get food / drink thrown in.. Stay in one of the 'Les Hôtels de Paris' chain of hotels, such as: http://www.parisby.com/lutece/index.html (were the wife an I went for her 31st). See the sights, the Mona Lisa @ the Louvre, Notre Dame... or just walk through the quiet streets and sample the local food and drink.. loved it.. check out my space for pics: http://jamesneildawson.spaces.live.com/photos/ or my entry on trip advisor: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g187147-d229572-r5458445-Villa_Lutece_Port_Royal-Paris_Ile_de_France.html Jim
Digsy
Unless you know the weather will be OK on the day I'd knock the balloon ride idea on the head right away. They don't fly when it's raining and it could be your fifth aniversary before you get up there....
rickya
Hire a speed boat along the Thames for a couple of hours & take a posh picnic basket with you. I did it years ago from near Kingston upon thames. Then maybe down to Richmond for a few drinks !

Nobbie
Go to London Eat at the Locanda Locatelli Italian restaurant. Superb food, amazing wine list, plush surroundings, very swanky. http://www.locandalocatelli.com/html/first.html You'll both enjoy it. It costs a fair bit mind, but if it's very special night it's worth it And for the evening sir may I recommend...http://www.halkin.co.uk/ I've not stayed here, but have booked for my parents to stay for their 40th wedding anniversary in October - the staff have been great on the phone and will set up welcoming surprises etc She'll be very appreciative !! M13KYF
Stayed here once. Something a bit different http://www.distinctlydifferent.co.uk/ddlighthouse.htm ask for the lamp room. Gets the best view for obvious reasons. On a clear day you be able to see Liam perming his hair
