It might not work because surely it need something to tell it when to open and close?

us uk owners wont have this.

on the other hand it could be quite simple and connect to ignition live.

someone on here probably knows....

I don’t think it is motorised like the one you are talking about husky…this looks the same as the unit the Nurrish uses for his sat navs (I have one). Plus is looks a little cheap for a motorised unit. The door automatically retracts when you press the button.

its the front button that tells it to open/close mate :) all it needs is the power feed. not sure where it would plug in, but as you say its not a hard job to add one in :)

EDIT: it says motorised track and movement, in the pic it has a power connector so confused :S

Also you will need the finisher plate other wise you will have a open space.....jdm dont sell this item....be careful to as i had to wait nearly 5 weeks for one to be delivered...they dont hold them in stock and they order from japan

you cant motorize these units.....i have looked at the motorized ones and there is alot more electrics to it....that connector on that one is purely a switch for something else....its not even connected to anything on uk cars

Oh dear guys!.....

The white plug is for the OEM sat nav screen, its a small switch that is activated by the cubby sliding back to power up the screen.

The motorised part actually mechanical, its basically a tensile metal band - to close it you have it pull the thing back

Just thought Nurrish, if the above is correct is there some way of using this function to power your unit when it opens?

are the ones supplied with yours the same thing?

I have thought about this.....but because the system needs a long push to turn on it wont work....it would be feesable though to put it into sleep mode and for it to wake up....but if the battery was to die there would be no way to turn it on

Dont think so as this is a constant connection rather than a momentary 2 seconds required for the 'Nurrish Special'. I tried using this when I built mine. Would require a relay small circuit board to make it momentary unfortunately
