speedy Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I don’t think it is motorised like the one you are talking about husky…this looks the same as the unit the Nurrish uses for his sat navs (I have one). Plus is looks a little cheap for a motorised unit. The door automatically retracts when you press the button. Quote

The white plug is for the OEM sat nav screen, its a small switch that is activated by the cubby sliding back to power up the screen. The motorised part actually mechanical, its basically a tensile metal band - to close it you have it pull the thing back Quote

nurrish Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I have thought about this.....but because the system needs a long push to turn on it wont work....it would be feesable though to put it into sleep mode and for it to wake up....but if the battery was to die there would be no way to turn it on Quote
dcash5 Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Dont think so as this is a constant connection rather than a momentary 2 seconds required for the 'Nurrish Special'. I tried using this when I built mine. Would require a relay small circuit board to make it momentary unfortunately Quote
