Cheap reliable Winter car

I am looking for a winter car to get through these bloody icy and no doubt soon to be snowy winter days. Ideally I would be looking for something with tax and mot up till end of feb/March or if not longer. If anyone knows someone who is getting rid of a car and are selling it for a reasonable price can you give me a reply or pm.

I did the same thing a couple of months ago ... picked up an '01 1.3 Feesty Flight from just outside New Deer for £800 , 40k, FSH , taxed & tested until March ,cheap as chips to run ( 45mpg ) and I wont mind if I bounce off the occasional kerb , pothole during winter running back & fore to my work

Have a look through Scot Ads as there are normally quite a few little runarounds in there

I would be worth every penny, 0-60 under 4.0 s I reckon.
