Leon Cupra advice

My cousin is looking at getting himeself an old model Leon Cupra.

 

Been trying to find a half decent buyers guide, but cant find anything.

Any ex owners on here? And anything we should watch out for on a test drive?

I had one before the Zed, but cant remember any common problems. Being a VAG car, the parts are all solid and very few problems with them, but being put together by Spaniards, they can rattle a bit!

Ian had a SEAT before going to the Zed too. Think it might have been an Ibiza though. Sure there were a few more Leon/LCR/LFR owners on here

Yup, mine was an Ibiza, same engine though

 

Only real common problems I can remember though were coilpacks failing

i had a Leon Cupra R for about a year before the Zed, awesome car and never missed a beat. The only problem was when it was when it came back from Revo with a remap and i put it through a hedge was incredibly quick though!

Yup I used to be a member, when i had my Ibiza. Lots of helpful people on there.

What were the Leon Cupra TDi's like? Not sure if that's what they were called when they were the nicer shape, I know the current ones can be..... Am toying with the idea of one as a replacement for the Volvo sometime next year.
