Turbonetics Single Turbo

In another thread a few people had asked if the Turbonetics kit and Greddy kit would work with the right hand drive setup. Today I have a conversation with one of Turbonetics Sales Reps and they assured me their tuner kit will work with the right hand drive setup and has been tested. The Tuner kit does not come with the ECU reflash, injectors, or fuel pump. So what I would suggest to anyone interested in doing the Turbonetics kit is purchasing the Turbonetics tuner kit of course, a Walbro 255 fuel pump, RC440cc Injectors and a piggy back system such as Utec, Greddy Emanage, or Split Second. I do understand that it is hard to find a Greddy tuner in the UK but if someone is interested in doing this setup we could most definitely lend some of our experience over the phone and through the internet for the tuner doing the tune and provide all the parts needed.

 

We are currently doing another Turbonetics car now I will keep you all updated on the power the car puts out and post some pictures

We need to get a handle on prices and I note your earlier remark, with which I wholeheartedly agree, that a reflash alone is unlikely to be good enough for TN - enough overboost threads on my350z to support that statement!

 

I understand that UTEC has facility for about 5 user maps (8 in all but about 3 are reserved for e.g. valet mode etc) but have read that the stock map is enough simply to get the car to a good tuner 0all others being non-recommended either).

 

The UTEC is great in that it allows timing etc to be set directly (rather than offsetting timing based upon what the EMS believes the stock ECU is doing a la SS) bur again, and again, we come back to tuning/

 

You will know full well how many GReddy TT failures therer were in the early days of FI before it was appreciated that really GR TT was a tuner kit and before Sharif put together his 'GR complete kit'

I say the more choice, the better!

 

Again, a lack of experience in this country needs to be overcome somehow....

 

what we need to do imo (from our part) is to contact tuners over here and see if we can be the link through which they'd be able to learn from you US expereinced guys! :teeth:

I have suggested seveal such tuners to Matt (Abbey and tdi-plc to name two) and he has followed up by contacting them but has received no replies :angry:

Just wanted to get some info in here. An alternative to the "tuner" kit would be to get the soon to be released Turbonetics Stage 1.5 kit. it will include the following:

 

Turbonetics 60-1/Stage V ceramic ball bearing turbo

Turbonetics Evolution wastegate

Turbonetics Raptor BOV

Spearco Front Mount Intercooler

Drop in/plug in 510cc injectors

Walbro 255 lph fuel pump

Complete Fuel return setup

Customer tuneable EMS

Mandrel bent, tig welded, polished SS304 steel exhaust piping with v band clamps

Mandrel bent aluminum powder coated black chrome intake piping with t bolts for all couplers

Case of Turbonetics TS-1 oil

12k mile/ 12 month warranty on the entire kit no fault no hassle. It doesn't matter how it broke Turbonetics doesnt ask...they send you a replacement part free of charge.

 

Cost will be just a little over current kit costs but will come with a base map of about 390 RWHP at 8.5 PSI with more power a dyno session away.

AFAIK it is to be designed for this kit but has not yet (as of 23/1) been announced.

 

Whether it is to be a full return system as per AAM or CJM or a hybrid in-tank return as per APS I am sure Mia will advise when TN have finalised and tested the design

 

I think the EMS is Unichip as APS uses?

The EMS is in the final stages of being decided on...Its been narrowed down to two candidates...

 

As for the fuel return it will NOT be like the APS. It will include an external fuel pressure regulator and other hardware... I haven't gotten final design specs on it yet but it should be able to support north of 550 RWHP..
