Fitting rear camera to JDM screen-PICS at last!

Brilliant stuff B) Any pics of how it connects to the JDM Sat Nav ? Would like one of these on mine. No problems with the camera being PAL on what I'm guessing is an NTSC unit ?

Satnav was a Jap Addzest (Clarion) system: Screen;Nav unit; SV/AV junction box. After junking the satnav unit the camera (should also be NTSC, though many are compatible with PAL & NTSC) simply plugs into the junction box & power is taken form an (ignition) live power wire in the rear of the car. Very simple after all the mishaps along the way!

Eventually took some pics today after about 3 months of finishing the job! Apologies for delay & the fact that the car was not gleaming

First thing to say is that I still have to make a neater surround/frame (made out the pespex from a spare no. plate lying around) for the camera so that it looks more flush & intergrated into the rear number plate. I have temporarily painted a plastic covering to make water tight & neaten.

The actual screen was too big to fit into the cubby hole (sat nav one) hence it sits outside it. The bracket for the screen is adjustable & can be pushed further back into the dash/cubby hole as I sometimes do to make it look flusher & neater. But while driving for best viewing angle (due to sunlight reflection) it is better to have the screen more upright as in the pictures.

I have modified the centre console cover (bought of ebay) to act as some kind of screen cover & to detract attention from thieving eyes. It is not perfect but does the job at first glance. Though the screen easily unclips if neccessary.

The camera image quality is really amazing, the pictures do not do the image justice (especially as car was in garage & less light). The images are better than most rear view cameras mainly as the lens is bigger than most others & probably better quality I think. It also has night vision, & at night the infra red bulbs auto light up aroung the lens to provide some light. This night image is ok not that good.

It was a bit of a pain in the arse to fit as the rear bumper had to be removed but well worth it in the end as it adds a bit of techno-flashiness to the somewhat boring zed interior.

I removed my screen and noted down the pin outs... It would seem that the screen supports RGB Sync input, but not composite, UNLESS someone has the pin-outs for the DVD Rom drive behind the drivers seat? I have found an option for "VTR" from teh TV menu, so it would seem it accepts a Video input...
