Where are the baffles located and what do they look like? best way to get them out?

baffles, bungs, they are the inserts in the tip, usually held by two screws

Silly question but why does taking them out make it so much louder?

Because all of the soundwaves make it out rather than just a smaller percentage

ive just bought a k1. does it fit onto the standard y-pipe?

So have I, Japspeed have done well out of the forum recently!! Can't wait to get it on the car. (And MOT'd of course!)

Same problem i had. You will need to cut open rear cat back if you want to fix it

Exactly whats planned thanks.Saves the messing around of ordering new items,sending back the originals etc.New will probably work loose in a month or two anyway.This way I can come up with a permanent solution in a couple of hours
