Im interested in jtec23's set up. I had to fit an aftermarket sub because the bose sub couldnt handle the power and made that strange thudding noise. its much better now but finding it hard to get the right sound set up??

I was told that an amp would have to be fitted to get the bose sub to work with the alpine, anyone know if this was correct or was it the fitter ripping me off?

Doesn't sound right. The sub has its own amp already. The BOSE system takes a standard 2 stereo input and the Component Amp splits off the sub signal and sends it off to the sub amp.

Yeah thats sound about right. mine is a 04 GT, i believe theres a slightly different unit to the newer ones and it lacks a connection at the rear. "apparently" without an amp, i wouldnt have been able to control the sub. i can adjust the amp in the settings now. Is that the case for you mate?
