Is it possible to retain the steering wheel remote controls (voice tag/answer buttons) when fitting an aftermarket HU with bluetooth phone kit built in?

Has anyone been able to do this - is so what HU you using?

Thanks

As for keeping the wheel remote controls NOT

If you put in an aftermarket HU the bluetooth unit will not really work well - I think technically it does still work but you loose all the controls for it.

It would be possible to get it working with a bit of soldering etc but it would not be straight forward

Controls still work, but not in the way they are supposed too!

Green phone now switches inputs (i.e Ipod, radio etc)

Volume works as does the track / station changer. Cant remember what the other one does!

Just set your phone or the HU to auto answer on BT within 8 rings, that means it gives you the chance to hit the send to VM button when the boss rings!

Ok, here's a silly question perhaps.

Does the aftermarket HU, like the Pioneer 900BT, make use of the already existing mic in the car?

I'm just guessing that it may be included in the ICT loom, but don't know for sure.

Thanks

Nope I think you have to put in a different mic. Have 2 in mine now anyway, I think I asked the guy to use the one in the car but as I plan to remove everything if and when I sell, it was easier to have the 2 and not chop any wires!
