Changing Rear Pads

Right trooops

i need to replace my rear pads, now the car is off the road until i do it so its going to be done this weekend.

 

The rears are metal on metal at the moment. Can some one let me know if im going to have to bleed the brake line?

 

any added tips? i have printed the readme from this website. any other info?

Just follow the guide and be impressed with some half decent brake caliper design from Brembo. All you need to do is take the cap off the brake fluid and pad the surrounding area with rag to absorb any fluid you might push up when pushing the calipers back to get the new pads in....

Very easy to swop out Nick and no need to bleed.

 

Remember the copa grease

 

It concerns me that you are down to the metal and the discs may be damaged.

 

If you find that they are in fact metal to metal and you require discs then just give me shout as I have plenty of preowned ones lying around ( Brembo)

very easy job, you shouldn't have any excess fluid unless its been topped up recently, use something wooden to push the pistons back and as alex says dont forget to copper grease the rear of the pads

 

took me an hr to do mine all round

 

 

 

With Needle Nose Pliers remove pins and shims that hold pads in place.

 

push the pads against the piston to give you some slack and pull the pad out

I would get it in a tin or tube if I were you.Then put it on the back of the pad with your finger.I have never used it in aerosol form,but would imagine it is more messy.Motormania do it if there is one near you.

Ditto on both accounts, get a tin of copper crease, Halfords should have it in-store, as they don't list it on their site...
