Lexx Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 The missus has decided that her next car is gunna be a Skyline R34 GT-T. Somethign iM quite pleased about as she originally wanted a RX7, and I was dreading the bills that were gunna come with that! Anyways, has anyone on here had any experiance with owning one, or even working on one? We're gunna be looking at a few over the coming months, and are willing to wait until we find the right car. But Im just wondering what the common faults are, and what I should be looking for in particular. Ive posted up on Skyline owners, but thought Id ask you guys as well. Cheers Al Quote
Stew Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Ask Francis (Z boy) as he now has one. I also think Doug S might be able to shed some light on them. He had an R33 but I'm sure he'l have some info! Quote
M13KYF Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I'd check out the GT-R owners club forum, best place for info and may be one or two for sale http://www.gtr.co.uk/index.html Quote

clarkie34 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Not a fan of the R34,bit to square for me. I had a R33 GTR and I loved it.Got it upto around 400bhp,only to write it off a couple of weeks later, needles to say was gutted. You can pick these up for around 12k-15k now. Quote

She cant afford the insurance on a GT-R unfortunatly, and she needs to be able to use it for work too. The 34 GT-T is practical enough to allow her to do it. Been looking around online this past weekend, and looks like we may have to resort to getting one imported as the only ones she's seen she likes are tip-tronic. Quote

Lexx Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Yeah, seen that one. Good example. Hoping its still there come the new year as its a distance to travel to view it, and she's working over xmas and new year Quote
Cara Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 PM my fiance 'Doug S' on here. He had an R33 GTS-T for years, until just recently. Not quite the model you're looking at but he has gathered some pretty extensive knowledge on Skylines over the years having been heavily involved in the scene. Just out of interest, heres a few pics. It was far from stock when he bought it himself, but he completely overhauled it to how it looks here in the first picture, and then another respray some years down the line to how it is in the second picture. Just sold a few months back, now stays in Holland! oh and an engine bay pic Quote
live2themaxuk Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 My friend has a R34 GT-T and also a R34 GTR. The GT-T is a trooper, great car and seems very reliable. Only thing my particular friend has had problems with was occasinoal misfire which was linked to faulty coil packs, not sure if it is a common issue. Pretty quick and a high top speed. friend has seen indicated over 165mph Sounds fantatic with a HKS Super Dragger J Quote
