Handbrake warning light....comes on under braking?

Just noticed that my handbrake warning light comes on under heavy breaking...handbrake definately not on though.

 

Anyone else had this or could it be a faulty connection? Disks and pads being replaced soon chance that its a warning of worn brakes?

I had that happen to my old Zed.. never found out why it happened. I checked my brake fluid and had my pads & disks changed.

 

It only seemed to happen early in the morning when the car was cold though

 

I think it was probably just a faulty connection

+1 Check the level of the fluid first and if that's ok, check the brake pads.

Thanks for the advice guys, just took a look and fluid is fine. I have only had it happen when it's cold too.

 

Not long until new disks, pads, lines and fluid so hopefully that will sort it out.

Top your brake fluid up as it looks if there is sufficient when level ,but under braking conditions you get fluid surge..
