The 360 has decided to stop working

Still under warranty, as its 11 months old.

Can I take it back to the shop or do I return it to Microsoft. Do I pay the postage etc if I return it? Anyone know???

Cheers

Will have to go back to MS - They send a courier to pick it up from you. Usually get them back within a week - I've had 2 RROD in the last few months and they have both been back within a week.

At least it's not ring of death. Had that once and was fixed by microsoft. It's actually pretty painless if you can live without it for a week!

Don't have a clue about the Xbox in particular, but I do know that under the Sales of Goods Act 1979 the goods must be 'fit for purpose' - ie, should not be breaking down within 11 months, and you have the right to expect the shop you bought it from to deal with it for you. Some shops can be pretty arsey about this, but you are within your rights to get them to deal with it and liaise with Microsoft if necessary on your behalf. You shouldn't have to pay postage, or incur any other liabilities yourself, etc.

Take it back to the shop mate, they should swap it straight out, no need to wait for MS to get it back to you and you get a new warrenty for a year. My mate is on his 3rd now from Game

There are ways to fix the RROD too, mine has had it done as some scally did someting naughty to it apparently and it cant be sent back to MS. Works perfectly fine after the fix :lol:
