djw6 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Hi there I'm looking at a 350Z this week, its 3 years old and has done 25k. I have read that the services are required every 9k, so I'm expecting it to need one pretty much straight away. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what they had to have done at around the 27k service, ie. did the break disks/pads need changing, tyres etc??...and roughly what the overall cost was, so that I can price this in when/if I make a bid for the car. Thanks for your help. djw6 Quote
Scrag Meister Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Hi there, as it happens I popped into the local Nissan dealer on Saturday to check out the pricing for my 27k service. My Z is an 06 with currently 24k on the clock, so a little to go. I don't have the details of the service to hand, but the cost was £230 all-inc. They printed the details out for me too. BUT they did point out that its annual or 9k so that can vary depending on the previous service history and the mileages you normally do. Quote
djw6 Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Thats not bad. Might give Nissan a call and see if anything typically is wrong with the cars at 27k. I know it will be hard for them to say as they car isn't yet mine and I haven't seen it, but it would be nice to be prepared... Quote
stanski Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Got my 07 done the other week 27K - its just a boggo - oil , filter and tyre kicking exercise.. I wont put on how much it cost me but it was'nt cheap!! rear brake pads need to be changed - but I am doing that myself soon. Otherwise nothing else - you will probably need new tyres by 27K ? Quote
GIXXERUK Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 if it does need pads/discs give bigphil a shout the stealers will rape you - big time Quote
martinmac Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Or go there and get the service done. Quote
Sarnie Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 27k service is only a P1, the cheapest one, so should be sub £200 depending on where you live...... Quote

greido Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Call round a few dealers; the prices can vary by quite a bit and in my experience they'll try to under-cut one another. I booked my last service at the place most convenient to me then called round a few other dealers and got a much better price then called the first one and told them why I was cancelling my appointment; they soon came back with a better price which was 30% cheaper than their original quote (Another dealer had been doing a 'VAT Free' promotion). greido Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Further to what I entered above; depending upon where you are you'd be better with going to a recommended independent such as ESR. I've only ever bought pads from these guys but the feedback Big Phil gets on this forum on a very regular basis should make your mind up for you if you're anywhere near the North East. My 27,000 miles service will be due in a couple of months and I'll be going to a Jap specialist I used for years who are also excellent. FYI, my car has covered about 24,500 miles and had front brake pads fitted at 19,000 miles (Red Stuff supplied by ESR) and now need rear pads. Also, all tyres were replaced at around 22,000 miles, though there was still around 4mm left on the fronts. I don't know how the wear I've mentioned above compares with others but I'm sure this will depend on how it's been driven. Quote
M13KYF Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 moved have a scout around in this section. Prices seem to vary from dealer to dealer and also where in the UK you are. The north seems to be quite a bit cheaper than the south. Quote
