Gallery Gasket

My 350 is a 2008 HR on 83,000 miles.  It never burns a drop of oil and pressure seems fine.  Should I worry about the gallery gasket?  I hear horror stories!

I'd personally get it done as a preventative measure but obviously that's your call. It's one of the most common issues with these engines, other than that they're pretty bulletproof. 

 

Depending on location, if you do decide to go ahead, give Ali @ AB Autoworks or Horsham developments a shout for some quotes on getting them done.

Leave it until you have a problem.

 

Oil gallery gasket failure will not affect the engine performance or cause any engine damage.

 

Could possibly run another 83,000 miles before replacement may be required.

That’s reassuring, thanks. What do you think of these oil pressure numbers:

Cold 1800rpm 100psi

Hot idle 950rpm 45psi

Hot 2000rpm 70psi

Hot 4000rpm 90psi
