AndySpak Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Nice one Rob I've got a load of Alpine gear sitting in my loft (4-channel amp, 2-channel amp, sub, 4 component sets, head unit, changer...) makes me want to put it in the car.... Why have I not done this already Quote
Chris`I Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Looking good matey, be nice to see it at the Reading meet Looks like you need your handbrake adjusting too Quote
Stew Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Wow! That is a neat install. So stealthy even with a W7 magnet arse up in the boot! Very nice indeed. Quote
garry Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 H5 the more I look at the detail in this install the more I like it - great work! A couple of specific questions if I may... 1. which steering wheel control interface did you use and which functions does it control. I ask as I notice you have the alpine bluetooth kit. So is it volume up/down, preset up/down only or can you also control tel mute and the button to activate voice dialing? 2. which areas did you dynamat and why? I notice front doors (assume to give better rigidity for speaker mounting and seal any wee holes - but have you also done areas to the rear of the mid bulk-head between driver cabin and boot? cheers... No worries... 1. The interface is a PAC one designed for the car. But the switches in the steering wheel were opened up and resoldered to allow it to work. My electronics knowledge is next to none so can't be of anymore help there, sorry. As for what the buttons do, none of them control the phone. The phone control is through the bluetooth unit, and not the headunit. As such, not possible with this set-up. The buttons do volume, track up / down (or search on radio) and the speak button does source. No other functions set-up. 2. Dynamat everything you can that can resonate or flex is the general rule. The doors get so much as they can absorb so much of the speaker's energy and make them so inefficient. The sub box is built with it in the fibreglass, and there is Dynamat through the car wherever there is benefit. Quote
