Payco Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Just tried using the auto rev match on my new Nismo 370z and it is only working on the downshift.Does anyone have any advice or clue as to why it isn't working on the upshift ?. Thanks Martin Quote
Ekona Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Seriously?! It's only ever going to work on the downshift: You'd never ever want the engine to spike the revs going up the 'box, as the revs are naturally going to drop (so 6000rpm in 2nd might be 4000rpm in 3rd). Quote

Payco Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 Thanks Ekona but it's meant to work on the upshift too which Matt has now explained. Quote
Ekona Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Explain it to me then, because I can't see how rev matching (which essentially mimics heel and toeing) works on an upshift. You'd never want the revs to rise on an upshift. Quote
mattross1313 Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I haven't had it happen for a long time, but I 'think' it is when you take ages to change up a gear. Example: Driving in third Clutch in / revs start to drop Take too long to engage fourth Revs drop to below what would be fourth So as you engage fourth the revs increase to suit Quote
Ekona Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Right, gotcha. So basically you'd have be driving really badly and/or mis-shift without engagement for it to do anything at all on the upshift. That makes a bit more sense, cheers Matt 1 Quote
zumpitu Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 (edited) it works also on upshift, if you press the clutch and you wait the rpm will stop at the right point. But normally unless you shift gear very slowly you don't notice Edited October 15, 2017 by zumpitu Quote
