Antifreeze type change after flush out

I currently have blue antifreeze in my car and I am unsure of its age. I'd like to replace it, but I ordered pink by mistake.

 

If I were to completely drain and flush through the old blue, would there be any issue in replacing with the pink?

 

I personally don't see why there would be an issue, I know you shouldn't top up with different types, but a mechanic has said it shouldn't be done.

Return pink, buy blue instead. Surely the easiest way to do things, and it means everything stays consistent.

^Agree. The hassle to flush the system is more than just getting the proper stuff and much riskier.

Always put the right sort in, different types mixing can react with each other. Some types form a gel-like substance which doesn't help with cooling one bit!
