Hi Alex,

Thanks for getting back to me on this so quickly!

I honestly have no idea of the part number, Nissan rang me yesterday and the guy said hes had a look at the part i need (5th bow actuator) and he said its unavailable so it may never even turn up if i order it. So i'm trying to see if anyone has anything available i can buy?

Really desperate to get this sorted and will do pretty much whatever it takes.

Thanks a lot for your time,

Rob

Hi Alex,

I used the Nissan Stoke on Trent Dealership. But the lead mechanic said he had spoken to all of the other nissan dealerships to see if this had happened before and he said its only ever happened once which was a long time ago.

Really struggling for ideas now and urgently need to sort it.

Alex I spoke to a guy called JON who runs an ebay store online and he told me to get in touch with you as you might have something available??

Really need your help on this one matey!

Thanks a lot,

Rob

Bank Holiday weekend, so the couriers are all off until Tuesday so you are not going to get the part until Wednesday at the earliest and then you will have the ball ache of fitting the actuator.

In this instance, unfortunately I can only help you if you can supply the part number.

The part required will definitely be available from Nissan UK, Nissan Amsterdam, or Nissan Japan.

5th bow issues are a common issue.

Also for the avoidance of doubt, get your Nissan tech or parts person to identify the part required from the schematics below.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for moving this to the wanted section! Im not the best with these sort of things! lol!

Anyhow, if i give nissan a call on the Tuesday and try to get the part number or numbers of the parts i require then i will post on this thread exactly what they said with the parts required and numbers.

Hopefully then you'd be able to help me Alex.

Thanks again for your continued help and support!

Hi Rob,

Just in the thrones of sorting my soft top open close issues!!

First off, have you tested that it works or not? You access it under the plastic cover in the middle, behind your seats. There's a great photo heavy ' how to remove the 5th bow motor ' on the US 350z forum. It can be the brushes just need replacing. Simple procedure and could save you loads. Google.

You can test it in situ also by wires from the two terminals ( + and -) to see if it works independently, bugger to get at the terminals that way though.

Mine does work, but not functioning

following passenger seat forward, Windows down, click open latch then NOTHING!!

As well as Alex, Jon @ Emporer Tuning may be able to help.

Don't panic just yet!!

Still trying to sort mine!

Regards.

Hello all, sorry to drag up an old thread but in a funny twist of circumstances I now own the car that Rob had a query on. I knew about the roof issue when I bought it so no problem there. Half the enjoyment is working out how to fix it!

I took out the 5th bow motor and replaced the brushes as this seems to be the most common issue. Wasn't as difficult as I thought and when I connected the motor to a 12v power supply it buzzed into life. Happy days.

One thing I noticed before taking the motor out was when the motor was plugged in it didn't make any noise when I pressed the electric roof switch, I assumed it was because the brushes were worn out and the motor wouldn't work anyway.

However, before I put the motor back in place I put a multimeter to the plug (that goes into the motor) and there was no reading, which I think means no power is getting to the motor .

I've checked the relay in the engine bay, found the fuse box inside but I don't think there's fuse for the electric roof there.

So I'm back to square one, with a refurbished motor 😕

Would anyone have any other suggestions I could try?

Thanks all.
