What is this bit... Exhaust knocking !

Since getting the cobra exhaust fitted I could hear a sort of knocking noise coming from it somewhere... My first thoughts were the brace underneath but there's a good two inches of clearance thanks to th cobras design. However I did notice this bit at the rear hanger.

 

 

You can see the hanger is resting on it but as far as I can see that Whole bit unbolts. Just wondered what it was before I remove it? Doesn't seem like that bit does anything?

I had this issue with my Cobra exhaust I cut a hole where the hangar was.

Unbolt the cover, cut a small hole in it, refit

Looks like the hanger isn't fully in either. Should it not be elbow deep in the mount?

Can't really see where that is on the car, but is it at the diff? I had to have the diff shield removed to fit an Ark Grip.

this is behind the rear drivers wheel, the rusty metal is holding a plastic deflector, part of the underbody aero... by the way, whilst cutting the metal piece - an excellent opportunity to get rid of the rust
