coldel
...some of the metal parts on my engine are looking a bit sorry for themselves, so thought about working back as much as I can to a smooth surface and painting them with VHT paint. Now, its going to be difficult use a spray because some parts are not easily accessible, has anyone tried using good old fashion paint with a brush on stuff? How have they found the experience, how did it look once done? I am hoping to put a nice gloss aluminium colour on.
Tricky-Ricky
If your going to paint with a brush, Smoothrite is probably your best bet, if you can spray good old 2K will be fine for engine heat.
Mopedmark
Here are a couple that I have done in the last few weeks, using VHT alliminium
GMballistic
Coldel I've used brush on VHT paint loads of times on my vehicles engine parts & brake calipers without issue. Nothing fancy either, usually just a Halfords gloss black VHT paint. Actually did my old Zeds plenum with good old Halfords VHT gloss black paint: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/85949-thanks-lyndzzz-carling-plenum-painted/

TT350
You won't need a VHT paint. Ordinary rattle can will be fine. I painted an SR20DE and a B18C with normal paint. No issues at all. Edited May 26, 2016 by TT350
