ioneabee
can anyone clarify the process / cost / time scales for me please "when" the zed sells - I want to keep the current reg option 1 - do it now - before its sold - what happens / cost etc - which means a new number on the zed and putting current one on retention - does it cost extra to do the first and then the transfer at a later date option 2 - do it at / through a dealer - cost of total process
Paul K
Go via the DVLA website. If your number is already listed as a cherished plate it takes no time to put it on retention. It may be more problematic if it's not considered to be a cherished number. If it is a cherished plate then I do believe they will try and put the original number back on the car. Lexx
Do it online. It's instantaneous. If you have the old reg plates you can put them straight on and inform your insurer. New V5 arrives in 3-5 days. It's £80 and the retention cert lasts 10 years.

Lexx
Nope. It's also included in your £
