modo
Hi everyone, just doing some research, I want to have my alloys refurbished and a new set of tyres. Rays alloys on a 2005 350Z GT. I've been given a price of around £780 that's with kumo tyres 225s on the front and 245s on the back. That's with the wheel specialist in Swansea. Any recommendations Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
Mikevv
I personally don't have much faith in Kumho tyres, I feel they aren't worth much - both monetary or quality. Having a google myself earlier for tyres ( mine are around 3mm of tread ) I found MPSS tyres on blackcircles to be the cheapest overall. Assuming you're wanting stock Rays sizes like me, 225(or 245 for rear) 45/18 then I found these prices: Camskill 225/45/18 £139 Blackcircles 225/45/18 £121 Camskill 245/45/18 £135 Blackcircles 245/45/18 £137 Don't quite understand why the prices are so weird, with 245's being cheaper than 225's. With my mid-night maths that puts the tyres around £515 ish ( theres pennies I can't be bothered to work out ) Long story short, I don't think the Kumho's are a worthwhile investment, but a refurb typically can be had for £300 and under, especially from the wheel specialist. So now you have to google your Kumho tyres n see what they go for, I can't help you there I'm afraid. Good luck making a choice, and let us know which you go for, both colour and tyres! Jetpilot
Tyreleader or Oponeo are usually your cheapest option.
SHEZZA
I've found tyreleader to be the cheapest for MPSS, when I had mine and the other halfs wheels refurbed last year. I supplied the tyres for them to fit and it worked out a lot cheaper. Here's the price for MPSS / KUMHO (All extra load ) https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/cart/ Edited January 22, 2016 by SHEZZA

Just had a look, 245's are £129 ish and 225's are £133 So OVERALL Blackcircles is still cheaper Edited January 22, 2016 by Mikevv
SHEZZA
Ah sorry too late work calls , I'll try later. The Kumho's work out to be £280 for all 4 so with a wheel refurb of £300 that's £580 plus fitting. Edited January 22, 2016 by SHEZZA
modo
Thanks all for your advice. Picked the refurbished wheels up last Friday they look mint. £300. Then took them to my friendly local tyre specialist Haven Tyre's. Fitted Avon's. £400. They look the business now. Next new brake pads, fluid change then wheels back on.
