duudiz Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) Afternoon guys, recently had my clutch and flywheel changed, car drives fine but at low speeds especially the rear of the car makes grinding/clunking sounds or maybe even a vibration. The guy fitting the parts had to grind a bolt off as it was bent on a metal brace towards the rear of the car, it's now back on but doesn't sit true as its been damaged. Is that the issue or do you think it could be something else? Many thanks Ryan Edited December 3, 2015 by duudiz Quote
ZMANALEX Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Not sure what brace you mean as nothing requires removing at the rear to get the gearbox out except the prop. However regarding the clunk, just make sure that they have tightened up the prop to diff. bolts and regarding the vibration, check that they refitted the prop in the same position. Quote
duudiz Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Hmm maybe it's the prop then, I will get them to strip it back down as the car drives and pulls fine, but is louder than before from the front (more whine) and at lower speeds vibrates/clunks. Quote
duudiz Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Here is a video of it on the ramp https://vid.me/6R6f I have had a comp stock clutch and flywheel fitted and changed the gearbox oil to castrol 70-90 I think it was, otherwise nothing else has changed and it drives fine besides the noise. BulletMagnet Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Ignore Zmanalex advice at your own peril, there is nothing about a Zed that this man doesn't know, and if he don't know it's not worth knowing Quote
samsniss350z Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Duudiiz, have you managed to sort your problem out yet? I'm sure its not just me who is curious to know what the problem was and just what the fix was. Quote
