EML Just Lit Up

HELP.....after giving my car the beans at a roundabout getaway the EML lit up, we pulled over into a garage and lifted the bonnet there are no odd smells , no leaks and the oil level is fine as is the pressure etc, the car drives just as normal, yesterday I did get a lot of steam briefly from the exhaust on startup but that could just be the weather.

Could just be a traction issue caused by your style of driving.

no reader so no codes alas , it was one of those thank god the cars got grunt moments we where actually on the roundabout when a numpty doing in excess of 80 straight lined the roundabout and was aiming for my door, we gave here the beans on a damp road.. no traction light but the eml lit up almost immediately , have now reset and just back from an 7 mile roundtrip and still off so hopefully that's it.

 

I haven't heard of the eml coming on for loss of traction before ?

Timing issue (CPS) caused by shock to an older, stretched timing chain??

 

May be well off, but similar happened to my daughter's car when she was learning to drive and not very mechanically sympathetic.

Do the pedal dance and record it with your phone, count the flashes on playback and this will give you the code, simples.
