laptop speakers ?? recommendation

i've been given the task of buying some laptop speakers for xmas (not for me) budget approx 50 notes

 

they dont have to be portable and will be used at home, pref something with a sub inc

 

any recommendations ?

Just picked up some Logic ones this morning from PC World funnily enough!! Were on special for £50 and so far they seem pretty damn good!! Sub certainly have plenty of rumble and the speakers are pretty crisp for £50ers!!!

Probably of no help at all but Ive got Labtec 485. Saying how cheap they are, i am surprised at how good they sound! The sub can be turned up pretty loud, louder than id want if i was having a Party anyway. Saying i got them free makes it even more pleasing!

I dont use standard speakers, i currently have some nice Bose speakers connected to the computer at home and they sound amazing.

 

Do you need travel ones or static?
