I have bought TRIX iron and tar remover to use before claying my car for the first time and assumed it will be ok to use on wheels and bodywork but a friend has warned me against using it on the body.

With the zeds fragile paint I thought I would get clarification from you guys before using it. Will it be ok on the body? (Especially areas with stone chips)

Anything else I should be aware of when using it? I am prepared for the smell :yuck:

It's designed for use on the body, it'll be fine

As always though, avoid letting it dry or applying in direct sunlight to hot panels.

It's fine on the bodywork.

Tar remover isn't particularly good for black plastic trim though, so go careful around the relevant areas and don't let it dry on anything. Other than that you don't really need to take any special care.

Hopefully it'll be ok for what I need it for. Paintwork is pretty spotless but just want to give it that bit extra with the clay etc.
