TORQEN R coilover kit offers a great balance between fast road and track use. It is the perfect solution for the track days enthusiasts who need a suspension kit that is forgiving and comfortable enough for everyday road use, but also provides specific adjustments that can be dialled in before hitting the track.

 

TORQEN R coilovers are fully height adjustable, allowing a drop of 50mm from standard height, even whilst installed to the vehicle. The additional reservoirs provide 2-way bump and rebound damping separate adjustment with 33 settings each, whilst the increased oil capacity improves heat dissipation for stable handling in extreme tracking and racing environments, enabling the damping force to have an optimal linear change. The locking rings are made from forged aluminum conferring increased durability. The McPherson struts use high rigidity 52mm shock body, with the rear struts including wave alloy steel thrust washers to ensure locking rings remained locked to the lower mounts and can not loosen over time.

 

Springs are constructed from SAE-9254 cold-wound steel and are protected by a high strength surface coating. Spring bearings are mounted between the spring ring and top cap to improve handling agility and eliminate spring noise when cornering. The piston valves are matched to each spring rate. The piston stroke is tested 10 million times on advanced testing equipment, the equivalent of 5 years mileage. Each component of the suspension system is rigorously inspected and strictly tested to avoid any premature failure.

Well where to begin on these bad boys...have been running them for just shy of a week now, they have finally settled and are pretty much looking how I want them.

The build quality is exceptional, each strut clearly labelled up, the finish on the components is top notch. They fit like a dream, no mods required to make them fit and I am completely sold by the transformation of the car.

The zed just sticks to the road now, that's before I've installed my Eibach ARBs and SPL components too. Spinning up in gears 1 and 2 is practically eliminated and the car just delivers the power to the ground sooo much nicer. You can really give it some when cornering and body roll is non-existent, it makes you feel really confident in the car.

The car drives so smooth too, considering I have the damping settings turned in 10 notches from the 'hardest' setting on both the top and bottom adjusters on the front and rear struts.

My friend who is a VAG head, stated "it feels german" :lol: seems legit.

But in all seriousness, anyone who is considering upgrading to the Torqen R's, then just go for it, you will not regret it!!

 

P.S. I know I've made a mess of my brake lines, that's getting sorted this weekend!!
