  1. Typical, got home late last night and got out the car only to hear a nasty hiss from my back tyre. Quickly took it off and put on the trusty spacesaver before it went totally flat as didnt want the rim digging into the tyre overnight

Took it in to be looked at on my lunchbreak and got told that as the puncture is on the edge of the rim of tyre (a few mm from where it touches the road, it cant be fixed :(

The tyre was a Maxis and was probably 3/5 of the way throught its life so Im guessing I need to change both rear tyres now at the same time?

I have Continentals on the front of some variety. The guy at the garage recommended another brand which he said were "b line continentals" think the name began with a "B".

Does this sound right about not being repairable? Its not a huge hole.. just had a small sharp wood splinter in it

Any recommendations? I do 8000ish miles/yr and drive sensibly 75% of the time :lol:

Could also be the excuse im looking for to upgrade the alloys.. it seems that usually you get the tyres silly cheap if you buy at the same time as the alloys (or am i missing something) ?

  2. Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a thin number plate made up? When I say thin I mean in terms of the thickness of the plastic. Also I need some thin tape for sticking it to the plastic holder on the front bumper. Also its a plate with the centre space removed between the 3 blocks of letters so limits my choice as some plate makers won't do that.

My current plate is quite thick and the sticky pads I've used cause it to stick out from the holder and you can see the pads behind it :-( also it doesn't curve with the shape of the holder :-(

Any recommendations would be appriciated

  3. Well got the zed back and have had mixed results. The quality of the spray job on the back bumper is top notch but there is a noticeable colour difference between the back bumper and the rear arch panels. The boot lid matched pretty well however. Im pretty sure this is not the fault of the guys at RS and more that the paintwork is almost 7 years old. I think there may also have been some work done to at least one of the arches previous to me getting the car. It is going back in though in 3 weeks time to get the new paintwork blended into the old so that the difference is not noticeable. I've no doubts that after this it will be fine and Andy there seems like a top bloke (I think he was trying to save me money by seeing what result could be had by not doing the blend) Anyway, I got a geat deal on the work so far plus a great price for the additional blending when it goes back in so im sure all will be groovy after its next visit. The guys also touched up loads of other little annoying bits on the paintwork for me :teeth:

Will keep you posted after the next visit but a thumbs up for RS so far

Has anyone else had any experience of noticeable differences between old and new paint?

  4. Can anyone recommend a company that provides drift and/or race lessons?

Myself and a friend are looking for somewhere we can go once or twice a month to spend a day at a time learning to drift and/or drive fast round a track

We both live down in Poole, Dorset so somewhere down south would be ideal
