None of which is an excuse for poor service. If you're too busy then you don't offer that service, full stop. Not contacting people when they've paid you good money is completely inexcusable. I don't know Lee, and I've never dealt with him at all, but I've heard more than enough to ensure that he would never see a penny of my money ever. There's a lot of good guys on here who really make an effort with regards to sales, and sometimes they don't get enough of the praise they deserve.

You know what? I'm sick of all this crap. If these idiots feel that there is no hope for them and that nothing good will ever come out their lives (talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy!) then let's leave them to it. Build a nice big wall around them, get all the nice folks out who want to make a good life for themselves, then lock the gates and leave them to it. I can't be arsed to try and help these scum any more, they clearly don't deserve any help or sympathy.

Jesus titty-f*cking christ, where on earth do I start with that??!! Bankers haven't stolen a single penny, if they had they'd be in jail. Go look up 'economics' for how finance works, and just why things are the way they are. About 0.1% of bankers launder money, and far more goes through legitimate businesses than banks as it's a hell of a lot easier. The world is suffering financially right now, true, but do you really think that makes a single thug right?! Please take your Guardian-reading liberal hippy nonsense elsewhere thanks, because it's attitudes like that that have put us where we are today. Bad sh*t happens in life, get over it.

There appears to be a small child in the driver's seat of your new car! Glad you put your woes behind you, but don't think for one minute that you did the wrong thing by revealing on here just how much of a mess that other car was, you did exactly the right thing IMHO

Just dropping back for a second to the point made about the worry of innocent bystanders getting hurt if we go in heavy handed: Sorry, but b*llocks. Why on earth would any sensible, decent human being be in the middle (or anywhere near) one of these riots? Maybe if you're protecting your property, but if the police are just around the corner and you know that they've been given the okay to use whatever force necessary then perhaps it might be a good idea to get yourself indoors quick-smartish, no? The only other folks out there will be the 'social media journos' with their mobile phones filming it, and tbh some of them do as much good as bad. Give fair warning, then go in and go mental. Job's a carrot.

I'm disgusted that any of this is being used as a political point-scoring chance by anyone. It's not political, it's thuggery. Simple as.

If that's their attitude then I don't want those kind of police on the streets any more than I want the chav scum there tbh. That said, I seriously doubt that is the attitude of the majority of police officers. Maybe only 5% are riot trained, but how many are trained in the use of firearms? Even if it's only 200 then that's plenty enough once they start shooting, as the rioters will quickly start running in the opposite direction.
-
You think they couldn't get the numbers there if they wanted to? That's an incredibly naive viewpoint, the Met alone has over 33000 police offers available, so I'm pretty sure those kind of numbers could sort this whole thing out quick smartish if they were allowed to. That's the key here: They're being told to sit back don't get involved due to the risk to their own safety. That's the real issue here, not numbers or political will, it's the fear of anyone getting hurt or hurting a rioter and getting sued/taken to court over it. It wasn't that long ago that a copper was up in the dock for pushing someone over at an organised protest, don't forget! Shoot them all. If they're rioting over one dead drug dealer who was shooting at unarmed police, then I don't want them to play any part of society in this country.
-
Hopefully the police will just stand back, cross their arms and say "I'm terribly sorry, but due to all the liberal do-gooders and whingers we aren't actually allowed to touch anyone any more for anything, so we'll just wait here until everything flammable has gone. Sorry 'bout that." It might spark a bit of a reaction and start the country moving in the opposite direction for a change.

Are you after business cover on it as well, like class 1 or class 2? What is the postcode you're in (just the first half needed for privacy reasons)?

Nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. /only half joking

Had one, yes, one of the original ESR ones, loved it on a ragtop but have never actually heard it on a tintop. Considering most of the "It's too loud!" complaints come from the coupe owners, I reckon it really should be labelled up as a convertible-only exhaust.

Exactly the same paint, that's what I used on mine anyway.

Do yourself a favour and paint the inserts in hi-temp black paint, makes them all but invisible Although you're a wimp for using them

Nope, why would it be sensitive either way? I just genuinely don't see either the need or the attraction of speeding on the motorways. That's where it's easiest for the police to get you and it's not worth either the worry or the time saved, never mind being utterly boring.

That's not a good thing: You do realise that you have to declare that you've had insurance cancelled now when asked by other insurers, which usually ends up in either a 50% price hike or declining to quote altogether? There's a difference between having insurance cancelled because you outright lied or tried something dodgy and having it cancelled because you want to do something to the car that they won't cover you for, I agree, but it's still cancellation of insurance and is frowned upon very badly by insurers indeed! That said, I'm assuming you told Sky that you've had insurance cancelled and the reasons for that and they were fine, so as long as you stay with the smaller companies you can get round it. Not something I'd ever like to try, though.

Good on you fella

Or (and this is a bit of a wild idea, I know) you could actually look a little further ahead when you're driving instead of just staring at the end of your bonnet? The signs are fairly big and pretty easy to spot, so I'm not sure why you'd be slamming the brakes on at the last minute. If people didn't speed there would be no need for speed cameras. I'm not sure how much simpler it needs to be.

That explains why most companies aren't interested and Privilege were, that's a fair amount of use especially for business. Class 1?

If only they were all like you! You'll love the VUS, there's not as much grip there as the Bridgestones but a million times more feedback, which makes for a smoother ride

I'll list the obvious stuff as it comes into my head: 1. You can make a living from anything if you're a good businessman. Car sales is no different. 2. Insurance, insurance, insurance. Public liability as well as the obvious insurance for the cars. 3. Yes, register it with Companies House. Depending on turnover you may need to be VAT registered as well. 4. It's illegal to sell cars from home, your local council will have a field day with that. You will need premises of some kind. 5. Anywhere and everywhere. Every car you see is a possible purchase, but you've listed everything obvious. Part-exchanges will probably be a good part of your business I suspect. 6. Read the SOGA and SOGASA, your legal obligations are in there. In short though, a minimum of 3 months warranty will need to be supplied from either you directly or via a warranty company. 7. How long is a piece of string? Too many variables, but on each car I'd be looking for a minimum of 20-30% profit bearing in mind all the overheads you'll need to pay for. No offence meant, but judging from your questions you're in no way ready for this at all. It's one thing to see the odd car for a bit of extra cash, but another thing to start a brand-new business from scratch which I'm assuming you have no experience of. I wish you luck, but you really need to do a serious amount more research yet.
