I know what you mean Gilly in January I couldn't get mine off the estate took an hour gave up and reversed it home again. Trick is to switch off the ESP high gear etc but performance tyres are hopeless in the snow went through a blizzard on M56 tonight couldn't see the road marking though but at least the 300 has got good grip

As you know I sold my beloved Zed and got myself a tank instead My little gem Yes it had a fat ars@ ragtops do - its the amount of pies they eat Handy for invading a small country with room to spare for looting booty! Its also got a fat ars@! Sometimes I miss my Zed for obvious reasons but I dont regret changing. (Maybe its the time of year with the bad weather?) So anyone considering such a monster : Pros and cons The 300C is no slouch, its actually pretty well screwed together (well the Austrian version is not sure about the Yankie one?) You get shed loads for your money, its comfy, imposing, practical and dare I say it is easier to park and move about than the Zed? When you open the window - the rain does'nt pee on your arm! The heated seats have 2 settings - Lava hot from 3 nanoseconds and chilli hot! (handy as it take a bit longer to warm up in the morning) Paint finish is marginally better - even the bumpers match in shade Alloy wheels suffer from corrosion within 5 mins of being fitted. They are are quite rare still on the roads. The auto box is actually pretty quick yet smooth - kick down is fun and the engine (diesel) pulls like a train. I do miss the Zeds agility, nipping in and out etc but the 300C does'nt wallow about that much travels quite flat on roundabouts and slip roads. Its a shame I cant keep up with you lot at the shows next year but hopefully (if we are still allowed to attend) will be there as camera car and soup kitchen! Not to everyones taste I know but I can sum the C up in 1 sentance E class merc in drag, S class size , Mondeo money! So far so good then and lets hope I never need to get Fiat / Chrysler to fix anything!

Thanks Bronzee - Autosol is a UK chrome polish - although its in a tube that looks like toothpaste! Hmm dont think I can justify yet another outlay on expensive Blackfire wax!! Maybe Stew's Buffwear (great name!) could be the answer - think he is into his classic leathers though and probably does'nt wash his bikes much anyway - more an old school guy just uses them! I am guessing he has spare parts in kitchen cupboards like most Classic nuts - although fortunately not a beard! (Hmm wonder if he would like a ZZ Top album!)

Relative is into Classic bikes we think he has about 10 so far somewhere? Goes touring around Europe with his club every year. Just trying to find a pressie for him? He already gets the Classic bike mags etc so any ideas? Dont know anything about bikes so any help gratefully received? Thanks
