  1. I converted my JDM to UK Birdview via a straight swap with an X-Trail dvd rom unit i.e. the box that sits behind the driver's seat. Working 100% (although I did lose the reverse camera function as UK units don't have TV option). Anyway, I have a spare UK unit I was going to put on ebay complete working UK nav disc. If anyone's interested in converting the nav in their JDM zed then pm me. Cheers
  2. Thanks for the offer, but unless I get really desperate the Nismo suspension is staying on the car as part of the sale...
  3. No luck so far - it will be going on ebay classified shortly. With the way Zed prices are going, I have to keep a degree of realism in terms of what I can get for it, therefore, I'm going to start taking off the good bits and sell it moreorless as a standard 350z. This weekend, I took the GT4 wheels off and put them on my roadster - the standard wheels don't look too bad anyway. If potential buyers are slow to come forward, I'll be taking off the Nismo exhaust, Brembo's, LED tail lights. Even without the above bits its still an 06 350z with only 10k miles - it'll be a lot easier for me to accept a lower selling price. Here's some pics with the wheels changed.....
  4. I'm quite interested - How much you looking for?
  5. It wasn't a factory S-Tune (If it was, I'd be asking a lot more for it). Hence no aero kit, nismo wheels etc It was a regular version 'S' with nismo/s-tune factory extras. I have only listed the upgraded things I was aware of from the auction report - the car's probably got more attributes 'under the bonnet' but as i'm technically ignorant I can't advise any further. I guess I'm your typical "all show, no go" zed owner
  6. With the car as it is right now, I am looking for something close to the asking price of £14,950. If I replace the Nismo exhaust and wheels with OEM, I'll accept a more modest offer....
  7. Yes, its back for sale after a long lonely winter in hibernation.......... http://pistonheads.com/sales/988137.htm I'll update the pics when I get a chance. I had it up for sale in the autumn but got depressed at falling Zed prices. Anyway, economic commonsense as got the better of me now so I will listen to sensible offers but depending on the offer I may replace the Nismo exhaust and GT4 wheels with OEM parts. If its the decals thats bothering you (as many on this forum seem to detest them!) don't panic as a hairdryer will get rid of them without leaving any marks. Cheers.
  8. Hi mate, you prepared to sell the wheels outside ebay for a quick sale? If so, whats your price? Thanks
  9. Cheers for letting me know - I'll know to move faster next time!
  10. Hi, are these sold now ir still for sale? If available, I'll have em. Cheers
  11. Thanks Ozz, looks like the unit I bought was from a newer X Trail. I'll keep a look out for a pre-2005 unit. Cheers
  12. Having read the "X-Trail nav unit working" idea here and on other forums I tried it for my self with an x-trail dvd rom unit off ebay. Whoever got it to work, I'd like to know how they managed to connect the car's harness to the back of the unit. There is no common interface to simply plug the car's leads into the back of the x-trail unit, as the back of the uk x-trail unit is completely different to the jdm unit. Dismal failure so its going back on ebay.
  13. Also, don't forget the potential impact of the weak Pound - when i was importing Zeds the rate was around 240-250 Yen to the Pound. Now that its down to around 130, the relative cost of bringing in used JDM's has rocketed to the point that there is no point in doing it anymore (even taking into consideration the fall in auction prices). So, all in all, my guess is that there won't be a high supply of JDM Zed's available - which in turn would point to a relatively stable prices in the UK. This will of course change in 2012, when the early models will no longer require SVA test. Mind you, by then Zed's will be worth less than a tank of fuel probably
  14. Nice one M13KYF, I'll give it a go. Cheers
  15. I had a dead battery which I replaced last week. Everything seemed fine until I realised that the remote locking/unlocking on the key doesn't work anymore. Of course it could be coincidence, but perhaps removing the old battery has had something to do with it? Any clues anyone.... Cheers.
  16. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced outlet to source and replace the JDM battery? I was trying to start my zed the other day and had to jump it after a long period of storage. However, the day after a long round trip to birmingham it still refused to start and just kept making a clicking noise when turning over. I guess this means the battery is dead (hope its not the alternator). Any recommended suppliers appreciated. Thanks!
  17. Had the same problem with my JDM roadster too - try a bit of WD40 on the 2 visible pistons then keep opening and closing - keep finger on the button when opening and eventually it will open fully. Like mine, your roadster has obviously been stored with the roof closed for a while awaiting SVA test so the 'joints' just need a bit of lubrication i suspect. Hope its not more serious than that, good luck!
  18. I've imported quite a few Zeds and can tell you that it would be unwise to get anyone to tamper/rewind the mileage reading. As part of SVA conversion the speedo is indeed changed to read in miles from that point on and that should be enough. In terms of verifying the mileage at import, the auction report states the speedo reading in kilometres and that is proof enough for anyone that needs convincing of the true mileage of the car.
  19. Thanks guys, especially Big Phil for the helpful advice - if the Nismo doesnt sell in the next 2 weeks, I'll be stripping all the goodies out and putting them on my roadster. Sorry the exhaust won't be up for sale, unless you buy the whole car that is! Cheers.
  20. Yes you can. The only issue you will have is the dust guards which sit behind the disc, the JDM version is much smaller so will need to be removed to accept the bigger disc. Great! So what parts from the Brembo brake kit would be carried over to the other Z? Calipers are obvious, but are the rotors the same size? If not, I would change those over as well. One more thing - are the caliper brackets different between the Brembo brakes and the standard 350Z brakes?
  21. As I have had no luck selling my JDM Nismo, I'm toying with the idea of stripping some of the Nismo/expensive bits and putting them on my roadster version T, then selling the Nismo with standard OEM stuff back on it at a lower price. Swapping the wheels, Nimso exhaust is simple enough. But the real issue is the Brembo's - can anyone advise me if it is possible to put the Brembo's onto the version T and put the OEM standard brakes onto the version S without too many complications? Cheers folks
  22. I had no joy on ebay so it remains for sale and I will accept a reasonable offer...
  23. Confirms what we already knew I guess... http://www.newspress.co.uk/DAILY_LINKS/ ... 065nis.htm
  24. Not good reading if, like me, you're trying to sell your Zed... http://www.newspress.co.uk/DAILY_LINKS/ ... 908eur.htm
