New car sales are down, but used car sales are up 2.5% (YTD Dec 07). With the high street lender becoming fussier about lending criteria, Nissan Finance and other dealer (point of sale) finance is becoming more competitive. Add to that - a new 380Z in 09 (according to AutoCar), increased fuel prices and shocking VED and it looks good for a discount on a new Zed. But, I think any discount given now will be relative to the £££ lost at sale of the car in 1-3 years through depreciation. I have just ordered a new Zed as a company car and my lease company will pay just over £26k for a GT. That gives a guide for potential new car discounts?

Seems I have two choices: 1) Aftermarket HU e.g. the Alpine Sat nav with Bluetooth, and full ipod funtionality or 2) Stock BOSE with Stock Sat Nav and the above ipod interface Both seem to come to about the same price.... confused.... still:wacko:

I have just read this thread - does it mean that you will not get use of the BOSE sub if you install this adapter with an aftermarket HU?

Thanks - will take a read of those posts. Too many compromises going for a non-GT car for me i.e. Cruise, htd seats etc. Going to get the adapters in my post above and the Pioneer Sat Nav HU. Apparently Pikes Peak White is available to order now as a metallic option. The lease on my S2000 ends on the 8th April, but I have to place the order 3 months in advance - company policy. So I planned to use Nov / Dec to decide what car to get. Drove the TT3.2 (hated it), Zed roadster (not a fan), S3 (nope), Z4M (loved it but I am not going to do too many miles to afford it!). So decided on the Zed Coupe with in white, still unsure about interior, but now think I will go for the grey and I will get the 19" Nismo's from BigPhil I think it will look amazing!

Thanks After a lot of research I placed this post on 350Z-Tech: Just looking for confirmation that I have found the correct adapters. Car order placed through my company, but I won't get it until 8th April... which is AGES Organising my ICE and wheels prior to delivery though!

The more I read the more complex this is becoming! I was on the 350Z-Tech forums doing some research and all does not seem simple. Apparently it is a nightmare trying to hook up a new HU if the car has the BOSE system installed. Due to the different ohms of the BOSE and Pioneer HU the sound quality is not as good i.e. lower volume. This is the post - a reply to someone complaining about the sound quality of their Pioneer all in one. Does anyone know anything about this? Starting to think that I should just accept the stock HU and buy the stock Sat Nav, which doesn't really help as I wanted a fully integrated iPod installation The other solution is to get the HU but replace the speakers, install a 4 channel amp and install a mono amp for the sub - but that will cost ££££££££

Probably not, but it's always good to hear from any experiences. My next question is where is best for fitting - I drove a Zed with the factory Sat nav and really liked the positioning, is it too low when it replaces the stock HU? Any pics? As I am also buying the 19" Nismo alloys, think I will just get the HU and then upgrade amp and speakers later. How easy will the install be with stock speakers, and hooking up to the steering wheel controls? THANK YOU

Hi all, About to order a new Zed and need some advice. My requirements are: - Sat Nav - Full Ipod functionality - Bluetooth I was going to order the Nissan Sat Nav as it looks great in the dash and works well, and get a Denison but I have heard that the sound quality of the Denison is pretty poor? So it got me thinking.... I have currently got the following setup in my S2000: 1. Alpine 9850Ri 2. Genesis Profile 16 Components 3. Genesis Profile 2 Channel Amp - powering from speakers 4. Radio Controls adapter 5. Powered Sub I want something with similar sound quality and have had a look at the all in one big screen units that does Sat nav, but I have a few questions: 1. Can I get a system that works with the Nissan bluetooth? 2. Will it work with the steering wheels controls for both phone and stereo? 3. Do I need to upgrade the stock speakers (are they BOSE?) My options seem to be: 1. Sat Nav - all in one system with an adapter for the controls - any advice? 2. Get the Nissan Sat Nav and keep my current HU - will it work with the Nissan bluetooth? Thanks in advance from a very confused Zed newbie!!

CD Bramell offered my the Nismo alloys for a cool £2,930 exc VAT I larfed at them and told them what to do with that idea...

Thanks guys. Phew, cannot understand how Nissan dealers think that £3,400 is an acceptable amount to pay for some wheels. Will contact BigPhil and look to sort some that way:)

Hi guys, Prior to speaking to my oh-so-not-very-clever dealer today I just wanted to get the low down on the 19" Nismo alloy option. I am considering speccing them on a new Z and want to know: - how much they cost? - if I sell them unmarked in 2 years, how much will I get back for them? - I have read they are 5kg lighter than the 18" stock - is this true? - how does the car ride on them compared to stock I plan to try and recoup any cost by part exchanging them for some OEM 350Z alloys when I sell in 2 years.

Current TT is based on the current Golf / A3 chassis which is no bad thing, as the Golf GTI is a great to drive. I am not a fan of TT's but drove the FWD 2.0T when looking for a new car for my other half and thought it was great fun, much better than the previous model. I recently had a 3.2 TTC on extended testdrive and really hated it. It wasn't quick and the steering is very light with little or no feedback. I owned an Audi S3 (last model) which was terminally dull to drive.

Got my eye on the Alpine iDA-X001 now! This happened with my current S2000 and I ended up replacing everything - HU, speakers, AMP, adapters... cost a fortune but the net result was good.

After further research on the ICE forum I am now confused (not hard). If I install the Kenwood DDX7029 will I also need to buy: - Ipod adapter - Bluetooth adapter Will it work with the OEM bluetooth adapter that is already there? Just trying to see what the most cost effective method is. I could always get the fascia mod and just use my current Alpine 9850Ri with a steering wheel control adapter? But I can't seem to work out how to get the OEM bluetooth to get the phonebook onto the BOSE, so I guess you can't do it? Thanks for all the help
