  1. Sorry, but i thinik it's pointless buying a 3.5 litre sports car and expecting micra type mpg, it's just fuel, fill her up and have some fun.

Sometimes i only get about 17 to the gallon, but i dont give a damn, i bought the car to have fun in, not worry about fuel costs :surrender: just enjoy it ;):lol::lol:

  2. A mate’s wife is a professional photographer and says that photo competitions are now flooded of photoshop pics.

Touched up or heavily edited photos look great but leaves me disappointed. I prefer right time, right place.

Took these a few years ago on my crappy digital but nevertheless are now 19 x 30 inch framed on my living room wall.

Linked as I don’t want to dump them into Sats thread. Bloody photobucket has resized them.

  6. photoshop has it's uses. i think it's cheating when people have a car in a magazine that's photoshopped. the pics should be showing what the car actually looks like and not how good a computer can make it look.

on the other hand, it can show pics you wouldn't normally see, and also gives you decent avatars and signatures which would otherwise be a bit boring

you can also use photoshop to edit the bras off celebrities :teeth:

I agree that photoshop is fantastic and has its uses, I just personally think that a good photo is made up of a good car, surroundings and a keen eye for a photo.

Photoshopping pics of cars is a bit of a false economy. The car looks good but the reality is a million milesaway.

As i said, before, things like this are done for two reasons, one for fun, and two, to brush up you'r skills at photoediting, there are millions of photographers every day, rely on an editing package for their livelyhoods, so why can't the man in the street have a bit of fun without beeing told, they are not real people, or use real gear, which is offensive.

Every one to their own opinion, i for one will continue to do both, and don't care what other NORMAL ;) people think, no offence meant, but we ALL do have our opinion.

  7. Ok, I may be a bit out of order here, but does anyone else not quite appreciate the photoshopped pics? I really like a great location picked by the photographer, a nice clean waxed car and then photo's that are amazing based on the photographers keen eye rather than 'importing' a background from Mars to make it look better?

Bigphil's pics looks great. Rmmackfc'c pics looked great too. Proper pictures, taken by proper people with proper camera's without computer aided enhancements.

Sarnie,Think you are out of order mate, everyone to their own and all that you know, i love natural untouched photo's as much as anyone, and i take them also, but SOME people like both, dont see the problem myself, but there you go. proper camera Nikon D80 now D300, 18 TO 200MM VR , proper person funnily enough ;) , things like that are done just for a laugh you know ;)

  9. Don't know what happened there, :headhurt::lol:

    Just showing off now ;)

(or like me in the past, I found that happening using the Internet green 'back' button on posting, rather than waiting for the thread to re-appear with my psoting - just a thought?)

Think it was me not waiting long enough

  10. Ian do i sense some photoshopping in that last pic? I think you have added the sky to it?

    Hi

Yes, i did 3 of the same photos, quickley with 3 different skies, to see how much the sky altered the overall look of the car / picture, i'm on a steep learning curve with shop

    Here they are all together.

    Cheers.

  11. Stunning sats really feeling it. Is the car bronzey or orange, as looks temper on an 04 B)

    Hi

It is Sunset orange, but has many coats of Collinite wax on, which has deepened the colour , it really is that colour, but looks bronzy on a dull cloudy day, glad you like it.

    Cheers

  13. is that bolton ?

    No, Manchester

where abouts in manchester? it's buggin me, i recognise it but can't place where it is. nice pic btw.

The foreground, and small roof is at Trafford road bridge, near Pamona docks, the background is photoshoped in.

  14. I warm up for a 1 min or so in idle, then build up slowly, not going over 3k revs till properly warmed up.

More importantly who lets their engine cool down for several minutes at least before turning off, after a good thrash or motorway run? I do.

This is more important if you are turbo charged, as the oil fries on the turbo if turned off when hot.
