Nissan colour code for Twilight Grey?
Cool Hand Luke replied to smartmove's topic in Paint & Protection
Its one of the new colours introduced in 2007 i believe. Congrats on the car - any more info - where you got it from, spec, etc? -
Glad you're getting the hang of things Drexyl. If i get time i'll try and post up a bit more info for you on F stops etc. With regards to your comment about the screen on the A350 - I didnt say the screen itself was a drawback - its the fact it only moves in two planes of motion thats the drawback. It is a bonus having it and i thought it was a great idea when i first tried it out then i realised that if you are shooting in 'portrait' orientation it offers no benefits whatsoever. I reckon i shoot about 70% of my pics in portrait as opposed to landscape so wouldnt really see the full benefit of it i dont think - it wouldnt be enough of a selling point and i'd probably opt for a camera with faster continuous shooting or better image quality, etc over a flip out screen if you see where i'm coming from. As i said though its still a good camera and i'm sure you'll get impressive results form it once you've mastered the controls - and in those situations where you are shooting landscape and can hold the camera above your head or down at ground level you should get some more interesting results due to the angle the shot has been taken at.

Think you need to provide a little more info about your requirements first before people can help you out

Glad you're happy with the swap deal. Wouldnt be my cup of tea though. Had a good long drive in one of these last year - goes well and stops well but i found having to drive it so hard and use loads of revs to get any sort of performance from it to be very tiresome. Decent looking car and well put together inside - think the rear wing is a bit 'fast & furious (thought i have seen an import Type R without the wing and it didnt look right). I agree with Trev too - its driving the wrong wheels. I guess i also just prefer a car with a lump of usable torque and drive going to the rear. Each to their own though

New Mods: Vented Bonnet, Lowered and Aerodynamics Kit
Cool Hand Luke replied to kingbiscuit's topic in 350Z Modifications
Sorry to hear about this and see the Zed like that - as others have said it shows how strong these cars are. Main thing is you're ok, hope you get the insurance sorted quickly and with minimum fuss. -
I'd honestly recommend going for the coach option from Skavsta - thats what i go for each time i travel there. You are practically straight off the plane, onto the bus and then on your way to Stockholm city centre. Its run by Flygbussarna and should cost you under £20 for a return. You could then walk to your hotel from the centre of town or hop on the underground (the train/underground station is across the road from the bus station). Saves you the hassle of lugging your stuff to the train station, waiting on a train, hopping on, watching for your stop etc. You are staying in Sodermalm area which was seen as being trendy & arty a few years back - not sure what its like now. Normalm and Ostermalm area are where i ended up spending most time - main area for shops, resteraunts, bars, etc - approx 15-20 mins walk from where you are.

I'd recommend getting as comfortable with the camera and its settings before you head off on holiday - the reason i say that is that the emphasis should be primarily on composing/shooting the best photo's you can in the first place and using any sort of editing software as a secondary concern to lightly retouch some pics as and when needed. Rather than the other way round which might see you taking a lot of 'bad' snaps and spending hours and hours on editing software trying to make them look good. Get familiar with composition, exposure and lighting - you dont need to be an expert before you go but at least having an awareness will help your pictures a great deal. Basics of composition, shutter speed, aperture settings, ISO settings, depth of field, panning, etc should help you get some good results while you are away. You can shoot at home, out the back garden, etc just to try settings and techniques and get comfortable with the camera. The A350 should be a good camera too - i've heard a lot of good reviews about it. Main pro's are image stabilisation built into the body instead of the lens (canon & nikon have it built into the lens which means lenses are more expensive) and a one of the best live view systems around at the moment. Cons are flip out LCD screen only moves in two planes of movement which means if you are shooting in portrait mode the flip out screen is useless and it is very slow when used for continuous shooting i.e. motorsport or animals in motion (on safari in Kenya maybe) as it only shoots at 2.5fps (2fps in live view) - the lesser models in the sony range, the a200 & a300 shoot at 3fps - this is due to the increase in megapixels on the a350 model. Hope this helps.

Good guide Steve - nice work! Jim - something makes me think 5 years is the recommendation to check/change these belts, i'm sure someone will be able to give you a definitive though.

Doesnt sound like a genuine Nismo one - the one i have is a solid aluminium billet type.

Hello and Welcome -
I've been to Stockholm loads of times - love the place. Its such a beautiful city with something for everyone. Could recommend specific places to stay but the city is so compact and easy to get around that as long as you are in and around the city centre somewhere you'll be fine. Wouldnt have recommended it for a lads holiday though - they seem a bit more sensible than us when it comes to drink and it'll be pretty damn cold by then - plus drink is very expensive! Still if its booked i'm sure you'll still have a cracking time!

Stan, if you fancy trying the autoglym gear i'd suggest trying Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine over SRP - should help with the scratches and work well in terms of finish with your colour of paint. Then apply loads of coats of your Blackfire wax!

My 350Z, arrived yesterday :-)
Cool Hand Luke replied to Adriank's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Hello & Welcome Looks like you've got a Nismo S-Tune panel filter and Nismo Weldina exhaust (you can check under the car at the back left of the rear box for the little plate with Weldina on it) - nice little bonuses as others have said. I ha both too. The exhaust sounds great and the polished rear box looks stunning from behind - keep it clean n shiny! -
